Correr Museum, Doge's Palace, Venice (Oct 8)

San Marco Square
This is a beautiful square with huge historic buildings, St. Mark's Basilica, Correr Museum, Doge's Palace and small shops, etc.

The number and beauty of the painted ceilings was overwhelming. There were lots of statues and ornaments. It was wonderful.

We went to Doge's Palace next and it was fantastic with painted ceilings, beautiful rooms, even some were furnished. We went over the "Bridge of Sighs" to the prison. I highly recommend seeing this when you are in Venice.
We changed rooms for the next 4 nights. We took this room because it had a "canal view" but as you can see the window is so small it was not that great. The biggest problem with this hotel was the number of stairs you had to use no matter where you went, even the bathroom had stairs.

In the evening we rode the boats to the end of the line and back, which is through the Grand Canal and to where the train comes in to Venice
