Bruges-Amsterdam Holland

In the morning we took a 10 minute taxi ride to the train station and took a 1 hour train ride to Antwerp then a 2 hour train ride to Amsterdam. We enjoyed the ride it was sunny with some clouds and we passed farms and lots of beautiful mansions or estates
The cable cars are unique because they are so narrow, instead of 2 seats on each side it has 2 seats on one side and one seat on the other side.

We took a cable car close to the hotel and then walked a couple of blocks to Hotel-Hestia. Fortunately this hotel had a tiny elevator because of course we were on 5th and top floor. One set of windows looked out on the street and the windows on the other side looked out on part of the roof.

This hotel included breakfast so at least we had some food before we had to decide what and where to eat for the rest of the day. We took our laundry in a suitcase and wheeled it to the laundramat and an hour later had lots of clean clothes. We had supper at Pizza hut which was good. We settled in for the night in the hotel and there were 3 English channels on TV so we watched some TV.

Some things we saw walking around

They seemed to do a lot of cleaning, but it was a losing battle

these hooks at the top of houses are used to lift furniture up and into the house

These would make a nice addition to my elephant collection, but are a little big and expensive

I found the outdoor toilets interesting, but smelly we would not use them.
